A new stage for Usquare.brussels

As it pledged last spring when visiting the site with the media, SAU has sought - and above all found - a way to maintain the collective dynamic and openness that has made the See U temporary occupation such a success, from spring 2019 to summer 2022 . At the end of May, the SAU launched a public tender to appoint a service provider to organize a small number of transitional activities (creative, cultural, social, etc.) and maintain the links forged in recent years with the residents of the former barracks and, more broadly, with the people of Brussels, for example through visits to the construction sites. Pali Pali won the contract. And even though its activities will take place in a limited area, due to the increased pace of the construction work, I'm convinced that this last phase of Usquare.brussels' transition will be a success."

The pali pali team is very pleased to continue supporting the Usquare.brussels project in this new phase. Our mission will be to animate a community of around thirty occupants (social and cultural projects); to organize activities to accompany the construction sites for local residents and the people of Brussels in general; to monitor the projects of the Meet U neighborhood committee; and to manage the Usquare.brussels HQ. The "Usquare.brussels HQ" will be a space dedicated to sustainable food (canteen, cooperative supermarket, etc.), events, workshops, etc. The inaugural weekend is scheduled for November 11, 12 and 13.
