New step for Usquare.brussels

As it committed to do last spring during the visit of the construction site with the media, the SAU has sought - and above all found - a way to maintain the collective dynamic and openness that has made the temporary See U occupation so successful, from spring 2019 to summer 2022 . At the end of May, the SAU launched a public tender to appoint a service provider responsible for organizing the reception, in small numbers, of transitory activities (creative, cultural, social...) and for maintaining the links created in recent years with the residents of the former barracks and, more broadly, with the people of Brussels, for example with visits to the construction sites. Pali Pali has won this contract. And even if its activities will take place on a limited surface, because of the increase of the building sites, I am convinced that this last phase of transition of Usquare.brussels will be a success.

The pali team is very happy to continue to accompany the Usquare.brussels project in this new phase. Our mission will be to animate a community of about thirty occupants (social and cultural projects); to organize activities to accompany the construction sites for the residents and the inhabitants of Brussels in general; to follow the projects of the neighborhood committee Meet U; and to pilot the HQ of Usquare.brussels. The ''HQ of Usquare.brussels'' will be a space dedicated to sustainable food (canteen, cooperative supermarket...), to events, to workshops...
