pali pali, LAFAAAC and RESAE appointed to support the emergence of Guinea's creative economy

Funded by the European Union, and implemented by the Belgian Development Agency(Enabel), the "Guinée Créative" intervention supports the emergence of the creative economy in Guinea. Dedicated to cultural and creative entrepreneurship and the digitization of the creative economy, this project aims to build the capacities of local players, and create businesses and jobs in these fields, making them genuine levers for economic development. The two-year "Guinée Créative" project has three outcomes, to which the creation of a support program (ideation, incubation, acceleration) should contribute.

A support program for 100 project leaders and entrepreneurs: "100% Créative".

The aim of the program is to support around a hundred project leaders and cultural entrepreneurs on the Conakry-Kindia-Mamou axis in the fashion, design, audiovisual and digital sectors. Following a call for tenders ,pali pali and LAFAAAC, supported by the Réseau des Structures d'Accompagnement à l'Entrepreneuriat, and Fanaka&Co , were selected .

This consortium bridges the gap between Belgium, France and Guinea, mastering the project's key issues (entrepreneurship, skills development, incubation and acceleration), while having strong expertise in the project's four key sectors in both Europe and Africa.

Recognized CCI players

This application is coordinated by pali palia recognized player in the cultural and creative industries. Founded in Brussels in 2016, pali pali is a cultural, social and solidarity economy gas pedal. Companies supported by pali pali benefit from the company's managed venues, training programs and international connections such as the European B.creative network. pali pali is also a partner of the French Ministry of Culture's "Entreprendre dans la Culture" mission, and provides its ecosystem of entrepreneurs, who now form a veritable community around the creative and cultural industries.

The expertise of pali pali will be perfectly complemented by that of LAFAAAC. Founded in 2017, the Paris-based company operates in the fields of training, cultural industries and international development. LAFAAAC primarily targets young creatives and entrepreneurs in French- and English-speaking sub-Saharan African countries, through a free mobile training app that can be accessed offline. It offers training, ideation, incubation and acceleration courses in the creative industries, complemented by virtual classes, coaching and face-to-face workshops. In this way, it supports young talents and creatives in sub-Saharan Africa as they build their skills, increase their employability and professionalize in the CCI sector. To date, the LAFAAAC application has already been downloaded and used by over 30,000 people in Africa and over 1,200 in Guinea.

A genuine partnership with the local ecosystem

The consortium features a partnership that is unprecedented in Guinea: this is the first time that the Réseau des Structures d'Accompagnement à l'Entrepreneuriat has participated jointly in a call for tenders. As a result, nine (9) of the Network's structures will be fully involved in the operational support of the projects, depending on the project phases and sectors concerned. The project will be steered jointly by RESAE and the consortium, and implemented nationally by its members: Les studios Kirah, TOogueda, Saboutech, Ose Ton Emploi, Jatropha, EBooster, Dream For Africa, Giganstesq Connexion and Africa Digitale Academie, and its legal representative Bilia Bah.

These Network members have concrete expertise in cultural and local entrepreneurship, and have already participated in numerous programs financed by international institutions. They cover all three zones (Conakry - Kindia - Mamou) and the four priority sectors (Fashion, Design, Audiovisual and Digital).

Edouard Meier, Managing Director of pali pali: "pali pali works in several European countries through its support programs for cultural, social and solidarity-based entrepreneurs. We are delighted to now be supporting entrepreneurs from the Guinean ecosystem."

François Catala, co-founder of LAFAAAC and Director of Partnerships and Pedagogy: "We noticed that our training courses were already working well in Guinea. So we're very happy to support cultural entrepreneurs one step further, in their development, hand in hand with pali pali and the Réseau National des incubateurs de Guinée, our partner in the field."

Bilia Bah, President of RESAE: "This partnership is a unique opportunity for Guinean entrepreneurship support structures to pool their experience, expertise and know-how with Pali-Pali, LAFAAAC to help support 100 Guinean CCI entrepreneurs. This will not only enable us to identify promising projects and entrepreneurs to follow, but also to contribute to the structuring of the CCI sector, which despite the existing potential is struggling to structure and professionalize itself in Guinea."

Marine Abondance, Intervention Manager at Enabel: "The consortium's desire to co-construct the "100% Créative" program with the network of support structures is perfectly aligned with the ambition of the Guinée Créative project to support business performance while strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem."

Carlos Acero, Head of Programs at the European Union Delegation in Guinea: " This consortium will act as a catalyst to boost cultural and creative industries in Guinea. By combining the know-how of pali pali and LAFAAAC with the knowledge of the entrepreneurial sector in Guinea of the Réseau des Structures d'Accompagnement à l'Entrepreneuriat, the 100% Créative Program will provide effective support for companies and project leaders."

The program will be officially launched on December 14, 2022, along with the call for projects to support the first 50 entrepreneurs.
